Funny word of the day: Musket

I'm watching DVDs of "Veronica Mars," a show I'd never seen before I picked up the set at my local GameStop. I really love it!
One of my favorite characters is Wallace, and one of my favorite lines is when he answers Veronica's request, "I want to find out who this kid is and what art room he voted in." by saying, "Yeah, and I want a statue of myself. In the main lobby. Holding a musket. Staring down danger."
For some reason, any time a character on TV uses the word "Musket," it's funny to me. There's the Friends episode where Phoebe says Okay, so maybe you don’t get her a ring. Maybe you-maybe you do something different. Y’know? Maybe you get her an engagement bracelet, y’know? Or an engagement tiara? Or... ooh! An engagement Revolutionary War musket... Huh? Can you just imagine getting down on one knee and handing her this gorgeous piece of weaponry?"
And in The Simpsons, the Whacking Day episode doesn't mention muskets in the dialog, but what's funnier than imaging Bart reading about Johnny Tremain and... his musket? Plus, Skinner tries to get a musket appraised on an Antiques Roadshow-like show. Each instance: Funny. I'm not sure if it's the "Musk" sound of the word ("muskrat" is a funny word too, after all), or if antique words are funny ("crockery" is a funny word. Try it next time someone ask you a question about Pottery Barn, for example). I guess I like the mystery of the musket mention, and its ability to make me giggle.
