A Joe Posnanski column in the Kansas City Star this morning cracked me up:
"None of this [the NCAA Selection Committee's decisions] makes much sense here in the heart of the Midwest, or as the selection committee likes to refer to us: 'That flat area somehwere west of Duke.' Did you see that the committee made Duke a sixth seed? Well, this is only fair since the Blue Devils were a seventh seed in the ACC tournament. When they lose in the first round this time, the NCAA can have a special posttournament tournament and seed Duke fifth....
"One can only imagine what the committee would have done had Duke [like Kansas State] won 20-plus games and 10 in the conference - crowned the Blue Devils champs, probably.
"Jim Nantz: Let's check out the bracket in the East, Billy, where it looks like... wait a minute, I'm gettin glate word from the selection committee. Yes. Duke is the champion again. Put up your Dukes! Congratulations to Mike Kryzewski and the Blue Devils.
"Billy Packer: I think this is a good move by the committee, Jim."
