Two nice bits of writing

The Kansas City Star had a couple bits of writing this morning I really enjoyed. The first was from politics writer Scott Canon:

"The presidential primaries have become something like a line for hot concert tickets.
"This is one big, big show. So nobody wants to be stuck in the back where the band can barely be seen and where, certainly, your screams can't be heard.
"So the states line up early."
